[Newbies] 12 Bars Together
Details
12 Bars Together — Newbies 🎸
Come to one session, a few, or all six—whatever fits your schedule! Please RSVP separately for each date you plan to attend. No six-week commitment is required.
Discover the blues with Calgary Guitar Club! This six-week series is for absolute beginners—no experience, music-reading, or theory knowledge required.
We’ll start with the essentials: tuning your guitar, finding your way around the frets, and getting comfortable with simple chords and rhythms. From there, we’ll explore the classic 12-bar blues, one manageable step at a time.
Over six weeks, you’ll:
🎸 Learn how to tune your guitar and navigate the frets
🎵 Build beginner-friendly chords used in the blues
🪕 Practice steady strumming and a simple shuffle feel
🎶 Get familiar with the 12-bar blues pattern
🤝 Bring it all together by playing with others
Expect a relaxed, supportive space where buzzing strings and awkward chord changes are welcome parts of learning. By the end, you’ll have a foundation in blues guitar and the confidence to keep making music—together.
