Mount Robertson S7-We're So Happy. Even When We're Smiling Out of Fear.

Details

NOTE: This trip will likely take ~13 hours car to car. It's a big day.

NOTE: I highly recommend approach shoes for the ridge or extremely grippy boots. Lots of challenging scrambling. No old worn out hikers. Feel free to wear your hikers until the ridge for comfort.

NOTE: The French glacier can be mostly skirted to the left. Although you don't need crampons or an ice axe, I do recommend packing spikes for some added grip if you travel on steeper terrain on the French glacier. There will be glacier travel on the Haig glacier. It is mostly benign. We may need to circumvent the occasional slot or crevasse.

NOTE: There is a short down sloping ledge traverse crux on the route. It can be bypassed. I have done the ledge on a previous trip. I will leave it up to individuals whether they want to bypass it or not.

What happens when you let a brown guy try to organize an event in the mountains? Bad things. But I'm a big believer in second chances. Especially for myself. So bye bye Miss Ishbel, hello Mister Robertson.

Here's all you need to know about Mount Robertson. It's probably the hardest of the Kane scrambles but probably also the best. And in my humble opinion, with all the beautiful scenery, it's also quite romantic. I guess I'm just an old softy. Love is in the air people. Come taste it.

🌲 If we have not hiked together before, please answer the question regarding your hiking experience. The waitlist for this event is not first come, first serve, but rather is based on your hiking/scrambling experience that is suitable for this hike.
🌲 I prefer to move at a moderate and steady pace with short breaks only when necessary (e.g., re/delayering, bathroom, snacks, lunch). This means that if you need to stop for frequent and/or elaborate photo shoots at every large boulder and pseudo-view point, please do not sign up. It is also a must that the GROUP STAYS TOGETHER, so don't sign up if you want to take off to do exploratory route finding through the bushes or up an uninviting gully or trying to set a personal best time. It is also not acceptable to break off into your own small group to selfishly bag a peak and then head back to the trailhead while leaving the rest of the group behind.
