On July 30 at 9 am, relax, unwind, and get set to see pelicans and other wildlife on Calgary's Bow River as the award-winning RiverWatch Institute tours you and your guests on calm water. RiverWatch offers float tours to school groups as Alberta's largest 'rafting' registered charity. Their low-cost trips are fundraisers for safe science education and water monitoring programs for school groups and the public. Please read all the event details.

What you get
- Insights into local river history, culture, bio-diversity, stewardship.
- First aid kits, life jackets, and paddles.
- Free shuttle from Boat Ramp/Launch Parking on Bow Bottom Trail and a lunch/washroom break.
- A commercial raft for 10 people. If weather and river flow rates are an issue, the trip is canceled and your money is refunded.
- A water safety talk and instructions for using a paddle.
Qualifications of the guides: Guides complete intense training for rafting, emergency response, health and safety, bus driving, equipment maintenance, water quality monitoring, and local natural history.
Arrive at 9 am sharp. Float on the river 2 - 3 hours with a lunch break:
Parking is south in Fish Creek Park on the left side of Bow Bottom Trail in the Boat Launch Parking shown here.
What to bring: Lunch for a lunch stop with a washroom break, water to drink, and shoes that will get wet (rubber boots or water shoes are ideal). Wear raingear if rain is forecast.
How fit do you have to be? You must be mobile to paddle the raft occasionally. The guide steers.
What comes before/after the trip? When you arrive, tell the guide you are with the Calgary Ladies Walking Group and share any health concerns. After the trip, RiverWatch guides appreciate cash tips if you are pleased with the trip.

What if the trip is canceled by RiverWatch? This happens when weather and river levels are expected to be an issue. RiverWatch contacts us and your money is refunded.
How to cancel your attendance if you can't come after all
Email RiverWatch at ecofloats@riverwatch.ab.ca. Next, cancel your attendance; log in on the top right corner of this page (beside your photo) and then go to the bottom right to click on "You're going!" to change your RSVP.
