Leather Arm Bracers!

Details
Let's get together and make leather arm bracers! I will show you how to make a basic arm bracer. If you wish to tool/stamp a pattern into your leather, you may bring your needed supplies. The door to the community room is located near the salad bar within the CO-OP grocery store.
What you will need:
All of your needed supplies can be found at Tandy Leather Factory at 7816 McLeod Tr SE. Their website is: tandyleather.ca The staff there will be more than happy to help you with any questions. I will be working there on Saturdays as well.
-
Vegetable tanned leather - 4-5 oz large enough to cover your forearm. For anyone who is not familiar with leather thickness (measured in oz) please visit the following link:
https://www.tandyleather.com/en/leather-buying-guide.html -
Ruler & sewing measuring tape: These are needed for measuring your arm length & diameter and making a template
-
Poster paper, or something that you can use to make a template. NOTE! Do not use corrugated cardboard. This will not hold its shape very well.
-Pencil/pen
-Scissors
-Wool Daubers
-Dye/Stain & Finish/sealer
-Liner (optional): Un-lined vegetable-tanned leather can be uncomfortable, so a lining is applied. Pig suede, fabric, or an other leather lioner works well. You want to choose something that is thin enough that will allow you to wear your bracer comfortably.
-Contact cement: (if you choose to add a liner): either water, or solvent-based.
-Leather lace, or a cord of your choice: This will be used to tie the underside of your bracer.
-Rotary punch, or Drive Punch size 2, 4, or 6:
A rotary punch is two-handled punch that has many different sizes to choose from on a wheel to punch out a hole into leather. A drive punch is a single rod that is used to do the same, only with a mallet.
Choose the size that would work best for your chosen lace, or cord if you are buying a drive punch.
