Mahjong in Chinatown - Jan 5

Happy New Year! Let's start off 2026 by making new friends, and playing (or learning to play) mahjong. Beginners are always welcome and we will teach you, for free, if you don't know how to play. Donations towards the cost of running the Meetup website will be appreciated.
Our mahjong games are held at the Leong Chong How Tong Association, in the heart of Chinatown. The venue has a small kitchen so feel free to bring snacks or drinks with you if you'd like, especially if you have holiday treats or something else to share.

We usually have at least 3 mahjong sets and 3 games (or more) going on at the same time, and since there are more than a few MJ tables and MJ sets at this venue, there should be ample room for all. However, if you have a mahjong set you would like to play with, please bring it with you so more people can join in the fun.
One or more of the tables is usually set up to play riichi (Japanese mahjong). A standard mahjong game requires 4 players but a 3-player game is also possible if we are short of players.

There should be free street parking near the venue on a Monday evening but it might be more convenient to arrive by C-train if you can, as parking spaces fill up fast, even in winter.
