Mahjong in Chinatown - Feb 28

Let's make new friends, and play (or learn to play) mahjong. Beginners are always welcome and we will teach you, for free, if you don't know the difference between a chi, a pung, or a kong. To mark the end of the Chinese New Year Festival, today's mahjong game will be held at the Gee How Oak Tin Benevolent Association, in the heart of Chinatown. There will also be movie (TBD) at 4 pm before mahjong begins so come early if you can if you would like to see it. The venue has a small kitchen so feel free to bring snacks or drinks with you if you'd like, especially if you have something to share.
We usually have at 4 or 5 mahjong sets and 4 games (or more) going on at the same time, and since there are currently more than a few MJ tables and a few MJ sets at this venue, there should be ample room for all. However, if you have a mahjong set you would like to play with, please bring it with you so more people can join in the fun.
One or more of the tables is usually set up to play riichi (Japanese mahjong). A standard mahjong game requires 4 players but a 3-player game is also possible if we are ever short of players.
There should be free street parking near the venue on a Saturday evening but it might be more convenient to arrive by C-train if you can, as parking spaces fill up fast, even in winter.
