Building a Recommendation Engine using Neural Networks

AI & Machine Learning is applied almost everywhere nowadays. If you want to see and learn how it can be done in practice then don't miss this session. I will be building a recommendation engine using Neural Networks in JavaScript. For this session, I will use an example of a web service that will suggest books similar to a given book. Then I will demonstrate Reinforcement Learning and how we can leverage that to implement book suggestions for a given user based on user preferences that change over time. I will try to keep it as simple as possible so prior knowledge or experience with AI or Machine Learning is not required. This is not going to be a theoretical session but if the time allows I will briefly talk about different types of Neural Networks like Recurrent, LSTM, what they're good at and where they can be applied.

As usual, this is going to be an interactive coding session so bring your latops if you want to follow the example. I will submit all the source code we implement after the meetup on GitHub. Make sure you have installed the current LTS version 12.14 of Node.js.
