Meeting for June/Outdoor Lighting/Model Shoot/Workshop

CPS Members,

We are coming up to our annual Outdoor Lighting/Model shoot next week. This is a great opportunity to practice your outdoor lighting techniques while working with a live subject. Practicing your posing and interaction with the models. Looking for the right angles , along with good lighting to make a pleasing image for you and your subject.

We will be going to Bowness Park in NW Calgary. Bowness Park provides lots of variety, both for models and photographers. With the Calgary Stampede just a little over a month away, I thought we could make the theme Western. That way we will have images that can be used during Stampede on our social media platforms. Models, feel free to bring a change of clothes for more variety.

We are trying to get enough models for the shoot, so I need to know if you are coming. We would like to have as many, if not more, models for the number of photographers in attendance. If you know of a model that would like to attend, please bring them along. Please let me know if you plan on doing so. There is no charge for models.

If you would like to come and observe and learn from the other photographers, please let me know so I can pair you up with a photographer that has some experience. I will also be setting up some shots and going through my techniques and thought processes when crafting my images.

Whether you are a shooter or an observer, the cost for the evening will be $30. This is to help cover any costs incurred for the evening. The club will pay the balance for any additional costs needed.

As a photographer, we would ask that you supply some of the images that you have taken to each of the models you work with. You don't need to give everything, but some images would be appreciated so they can use for their social media. If you have some business cards to hand out with your contact information, bring them along. I would also suggest getting their contact information as well.

This night is meant to be fun and educational. If you feel uncomfortable and shy when working with people, this is a great way to practice and give you more confidence for future shoots.
