JOIN US IN THE TREES @ McIvers CABIN

Summer is here, the weather is getting hotter, so let's head up to about 7000ft and enjoy some cooler temperatures in the South Sequoia National Forest.

We will meet up in Mojave at the MOBIL GAS STATION (15190 Sierra Highway, Mojave, CA 93501) at 10am. Then head out as a group at 10.20a, trekking through Jawbone Canyon and into Sequoia Forest via JAWBONE CANYON RD. The scenic dirt/fire roads will be fun, nothing too difficult, but 4x4 or AWD is needed just to be safe and to ensure no one has any issues.

The campsite will be at the near McIvers Cabin (EXACT GPS coordinates will be provided). We will need to pack everything in, and pack everything out; so please be prepared.

Sequoia National Forest

This is dispersed camping, no amenities provided (no toilets, tables, running water, electricity, or trash service). We are going to have to bring everything in, and set it all up, then pack everything out when we are done, including all trash.

PLAN:
I will lead the way to the campsite area, then once there we can set up our tents/living area, and then you are welcome to do anything you want for the rest of the weekend.

THINGS TO DO:

• explore the local 4x4 trails, (fire roads)
• Hike and/or Bike in the local mountains
• Relax, mingle, enjoy the outdoors/fresh air, and HOPEFULLY cooler temps!

Campers are responsible for bringing their own camping gear, food, water, tents, first aid, toys, & supplies.

Weather will be APPROX. 80/90s day & in the 50/70s night.

WHAT TO BRING:

• WATER/ICE! Drinking & washing.(min. 1 gal/per person/per day)

• Food/Drinks.

• FIRE RESTRICTIONS IN EFFECT - PROPANE DEVICES ONLY

• Camping gear. Tent/CHAIR/Sleep Stuff/clothes/lantern/portable toilet/etc.

-ANY PROPANE device is acceptable, so if you have the means & extra space; bring it. (fire permit needed = www.preventwildfireca.org/permits)

COST:
$5 per person
It would be free, but since MeetUp charges ME a monthly service fee to be a host, I am just trying to break even; not make a profit off you like some of the other groups out there.

RSVP & PAYMENT RULES:
The $5 payment is DUE at the time of your RSVP to CONFIRM your spot, I accept Venmo (Paul-R1) or Apple Cash (message me). If event is full, You will be moved off the list until your payment is made. NO SHOWS do not get a refund. Cancellations prior to the last week can receive a payment credit (not refund), but ONLY if there is someone to take your place, otherwise the fee is still incurred.

LEGAL
Minimum age for ALL Members and their guests is 18.

You can come for as long, or as short as you'd like.
You are responsible for yourself. By signing up for these events, you agree not to hold the Meetup organizers/leaders of California Camping Adventures responsible for whatever happens to you on these events. MeetUp and/or California Camping Adventures is NOT responsible for any possible losses, medical assistance, sickness, legal issues, property damage, or injuries. Adventure Pass needed for most events.

Also, if you, or ANYONE you know has COVID, PLEASE!!! DO NOT come. I understand it sucks, but we have to play it safe, rather than be sorry.
