CCA - GOLER HEIGHTS AREA CAMP EVENT

Details

We are going to the Goler Heights area at the end of the Last Chance Canyon 4x4 Trail. The GPS coordinates of the campsite location:
35.44702388399242, -117.75736310039815

This will be true dispersed camping/boondocking; no amenities provided (no toilets, running water, electricity, or trash service). We are going to have to bring everything in, and set it all up, then pack everything out when we are done, including all trash.

Weather will be APPROX. 80/90s day & in the 50-70s night.

A 4x4 / AWD drive vehicle is needed to safely make it to the campsite from the last paved road. The dirt trail goes from easy to quite sandy and traction becomes an issue for 2wd.

The camp area (GPS COORDINATES) is somewhat of a raised dirt platform on the left next to the trail, along the left canyon wall.

Once you see the old rusted car body on the right, it's about another 100ft or so on the left.

PLAN:

SATURDAY:
We will just plan on meeting at the campsite location, the GPS coordinates provided, on Saturday around 12 pm (you are welcome to get there earlier or later .. no problem). Once you are at the location, then you can set up your tents, living areas, cook stations, and then just relax and chat with the rest.
Prior to arriving at the campsite on Saturday, I will be guiding a my 4x4 meetup group through the Last Chance Canyon 4x4 trail and ending up at our campsite GPS coordinates. So if you are interested in joining the 4x4 group on the trail run, please check out that meetup event for more information:
https://www.meetup.com/av4x4s/events/286639858/

SUNDAY:
Exploration day, I will head out and explore the local mines and 4x4 trails to see what we can find out there. Anyone is welcome to join me, for this part you will need a 4x4 / High Clearance Vehicle for this just to be safe on those roads/trails.

MONDAY:
We will pack up/clean the campsite and head out whenever everyone is ready (you are welcome to leave earlier if needed).

WHAT TO BRING:
Campers are responsible for bringing their own camping gear, food, water, tents, first aid, warm clothes, & supplies.
