AI-assisted method translation in Catalyst, a WASM GC Smalltalk virtual machine

Join us for California Smalltalkers! This month, Craig Latta will talk about his recent work with Catalyst, a WASM GC implementation of the Open Smalltalk virtual machine. He's gotten some surprising results from AI models in dynamic translation of Smalltalk methods to WASM functions. Come discuss the long history of dynamic stack machine optimization, and BNF-level optimizations possible with the Epigram compilation framework.
