THE FUTURE OF FINANCE is Decentralized Finance (DeFi)

California Software Professional Association (www.cspa.com) is honored to have the Standard Protocol team speak to us on The Future of Finance.

Unlike centralized finance, decentralized finance (DeFi) enables consumers to conduct loans, derivatives, exchanges, trading, earn interest, et el without intermediaries such as banks.

At the center of DeFi is stablecoins, which is often backed by collateral to reduce volatility (as opposed to cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum). Because of price instability, centralization of oracles and barriers of entry due to auctions, Standard is the next generation of stablecoin in DeFi. It is the first collateralized rebasable stablecoin protocol for synthetic assets in the Polkadot ecosystem.

As a disruption of the current financial system using blockchain technology, DeFi has reduced transaction costs, improved financial services, enhanced security and eliminated intermediaries. It will have a huge impact on the way we manage wealth and circulate money.
