Centennial Gala Celebration California Writer's Club Sacramento Branch

We are celebrating our 100th anniversary! Please join us for a fun party at the North Ridge Country Club on October 18, 2025, from 12:00-3:00pm. This is a ticketed event open to the public.
One hundred years ago, in Sacramento's Senator Hotel, forty writers gathered for the first meeting of the Sacramento Branch of the California Writer's Club. The date was October 31, 1925.
Now we celebrate those who came before at this event that includes a buffet lunch and program celebrating our rich literary history. View a collection of rare books and other works from early California Writers. Special guest Jack Ohman, Pulitzer Prize winner, political satirist and journalist will give the keynote "At Wit's End". A star-studded lineup will be involved in the program. Special literary awards to be given to community members chosen by a blue-ribbon panel.
