Social Dancing outdoors FREE at Third Street Promenade - Santa Monica

Come join us — Always FREE — at the Third Street Promenade outdoor social dancing event!

This is an outdoor evening of social dancing in Santa Monica. Sometimes there’s a beginner lesson at 6PM, but you can also just arrive and ease into the dancing. 6PM to 10PM!

The dancing will usually always take place near the Apple Store on 3rd Street, typically between Cabo Cantina and the Apple Store. You can also check their main event page for exact details and updates — Tap here for the detail page.

Please note: if it’s rainy on a Sunday in Santa Monica, there most likely will not be an outdoor event, so be sure to double-check their main page or check for weather updates. Otherwise, most Sundays throughout 2026 from 6PM to 10PM, social dancing happens there.

People sometimes call these spaces “third places” not home, not work, just somewhere you can show up and be around others. They matter because that’s where community actually happens.
These days, there aren’t many spots where strangers comfortably interact without it feeling forced. Social dance is one of the few where you can just step in, rotate partners, and connect without overthinking it. It’s an easy, low-pressure way to connect making it as a memorable meetup.

Social dance has quietly become 1 of LA’s “third places.” It’s relaxed, welcoming, and you don’t need to be an expert (or even bring a partner). You just show up, take a few steps, and social dance with five new people and make friends.
