Our last nature walk got rained out, so I'm excited to get another one on the calendar!

With summer temperatures arriving, we're switching things up and heading to the shaded trails of Shelby Bottoms Greenway. We'll enjoy a relaxed walk, great conversation, and some time outdoors.

While the greenway stretches nearly 10 miles, we'll tailor our route based on the weather and the group's comfort level, aiming for approximately 3–5 miles. The goal is for everyone to enjoy the walk and finish feeling great.
All fitness levels/paces are welcome, and the trail is dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your four-legged walking buddy along!

From the Greenways for Nashville website:
The Shelby Bottoms Greenway extends from the heart of Shelby Park, past the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center, and throughout Shelby Bottoms – a 950-acre floodplain preserve along the Cumberland River. The Shelby Bottoms Greenway features relatively flat and meandering, multi-use greenway pathway, river overlooks, and an internal observation platform for studying the local ecosystem. The greenway also leads to the parks’ unpaved nature trails, the Cornelia Fort Air Park, and the tremendous Cumberland River Pedestrian Bridge that joins to the Stones River Greenway. Shelby Bottoms Greenway includes Fortland Drive, Shadow Lane, and Cooper Creek greenway connectors.
