Uchiwa is Japanese traditional round fan which was originally used in Japanese rituals or prayers to purify and sweep away our life difficulties. In this workshop, you will write Kanji (Chinese character) or hiragana (the Japanese cursive syllabary) on it with brush and Ink. You can learn fundamental technique of Japanese calligraphy. Hope you’ll have fun and know about the beauty of calligraphy.

Here's something you will be able to bring home with you through this activity.

• An original Uchiwa on which you write words in Japanese as souvenir.
  You will be able to have the opportunity to create your own unique Calligraphy art work by writing your favorite word/words on Uchiwa.

1,500 JPY (1,000JPY for only practice Kanji or Hiragana)
Include:

• Paper, Uchiwa, and ink. (provided).
• Brushes and other calligraphy supplies as needed. (rental)
• Just bring yourself.

It takes 45min-1hour to make Uchiwa (include practice)
