Día de Muertos Fisherman’s Wharf
Details
Join Calpulli Yaocuauhtli for Monterey Bay Día de Muertos, a three-day cultural celebration honoring our ancestors & the enduring traditions of Día de Muertos.
Gather for a weekend of remembrance, community, and cultural celebration featuring Danza Azteca, cultural performances, community altars, local artisans, food vendors, & a Catrina contest with a $500 first prize!
We invite you to place a photo or memento of a loved one on the Community Altar, where a special space will be for attendees to honor and remember their loved ones.
Throughout the gathering, Danza Azteca dancers will offer their dances in ceremony, surrounding the altar with movement, prayer, and remembrance, a shared offering as we gather to honor those who came before us.
We invite families and visitors of all backgrounds to experience this beautiful tradition with reverence, joy, and togetherness.
Presented by Calpulli Yaocuauhtli, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing Indigenous Mexican cultural traditions through Danza, ceremony, education, and community.
