Revealing (In)visible Times Exhibition Opening

Details

I have been invited to the opening of Revealing (In)visible Times and I think I could take a couple more guest with me.
It is on Wednesday 10 September (6-8pm)

Revealing (In)visible Times— a two-person show featuring Brazilian-born artist Alexandre da Cunha and Chilean artist Francisca Aninat, curated by Valentina Gajardo.

Through installation, textiles, and reconfigured found objects, the show explores overlooked experiences of time, from suspenseful waiting to quiet domestic rituals, in the daily lives of often unseen communities.

Alexandre da Cunha re-imagines found materials—such as mops, ropes, and straws—weaving and painting their fibres into refined sculptural forms. He invites viewers to reconsider the cultural and material histories embedded in ordinary things, exploring notions of function, value, and aesthetic perception.

Francisca Aninat has been working in collaboration with hospital patients in waiting rooms over recent years. Her practice, which meditates on the vulnerability of healthcare systems, began in Chile's first hospital in Santiago—Hospital San Juan de Dios. Her new body of work for this show, created through collaborative workshops with patients at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, develops a material dialogue with the Chilean hospital, revealing shared experiences of waiting, anxiety, and care.
