Can you choose your moral code?

Details

A moral code is, by definition, meant to guide your choices using moral principles. Is it then possible to choose a moral code?

Can a moral code then be chosen arbitarily or are some prerequisites required?

Is it possible to bridge Hume's Guillotine (or "is-ought problem")?

All these questions (and more!) will be the subject of our meetup. Ayn Rand being an artist herself (a fiction writer) had many opinions on those questions (links below). Come armed with your opinions on the matter and/or your knowledge of Ayn Rand's own unique views to discuss them in a roundtable format with other interested people.

Location: We will be meeting inside the Cambridge Castle Bar, likely on the two small tables near the stairs.
Format: Roundtable discussion, moderated to ensure everyone gets a shot at intervening on each point and to keep the discussion on topic

Feel free to message the group if you have any trouble finding us or ask the bartenders
