The Devil Wears Prada 2 for spring? Groundbreaking.

Please join us for an even-more-casual-than-usual evening discussing The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Twenty years on from the era-defining original, which earned Meryl Streep an Oscar nomination and helped launch Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt to stardom, we return to New York's cut-throat fashion industry in a new age of online journalism and cultural trend-setters.

Will this sequel live up to the highly quotable original? Have audiences lost interest in demonising 'girlbosses' and toxic work culture? And have we regressed from a time where female-led films could become pop-culture touchstones without being mired in gender politics? All these questions (and more!) that we hope to answer over a few drinks and a friendly chat.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is released in cinemas on 1 May, and will likely be showing at the Light and the Everyman. Please do find a screening that's suitable for you ahead of this event.
