From Handheld Gaming Devices to the Internet of Things: Learn how today's most in-demand consumer electronic products are created from scratch.
Dear CGC members,
We have another very exciting day coming up on 21st May. Join us at Campus London, a Google space based in London to learn from two industry veterans how today's most in-demand consumer electronic devices such as Handheld Gaming devices or the Internet of Things devices are created from scratch - including the hardware and the software.
We will be focusing on creating single board computers using ARM® powered microprocessors ( http://www.arm.com ) and show you how we can get 3D graphics acceleration out of the device by integrating GPU drivers into a distribution of the Linux® ( http://kernel.org ) operating system.
We will start at 9am sharp on Thursday 21st May and finish the day before 5pm.

9:30 - A Short introduction
10:00 - Robert Feranec of the FEDEVEL Academy http://www.fedevel.com/academy/ ) will give you a start-to-end overview of how an ARM powered device such as his imx6rex ( http://www.imx6rex.com/ ) single board computer is designed, developed, implemented, tested and shipped.
12:30 - Break for one hour - Networking opportunity
13:30 - Laurent Pinchart, a software industry veteran with many years of experience in developing Display subsystems for the Linux Kernel, will show how he integrated an open source graphics driver into a distribution of the Linux operating system to run 3D accelerated graphics and user interfaces on the imx6rex.
