DIY Telescope Class

Details
Using a 3D printer and some commercial mirrors, build a telescope powerful enough to see Saturn's rings, Jupiter's bands, and the moon's craters! This class will guide you through the basics of optics, teach you how a reflecting telescope works, and then you'll assemble one yourself out of 3D printed parts! You'll walk away having built a lightweight 4.5" diameter telescope more powerful than many commercial ones for the same price.
If you want to build your own telescope, there will be a fee of $200. This covers all the parts that will become the telescope you get to take home: mirrors, printing filament, aluminum rods, and two eyepieces. However, this event is open to the public; anyone is welcome to come for free and help the ticket holders build their telescopes (and look through them at the end of the event, weather permitting)!
IF YOU SIGN UP and want to build a telescope: Please email zsteinberg@att.net to work out payment via Venmo! I want to know how many nuts, bolts, and other telescope parts to order by July 1.
