What we’re about
Reading Round is a free community reading group run by the Royal Literary Fund in a number of locations around the UK. The current group in central Cambridge, led by poet Alex Wong, has a few spaces still remaining and is hoping for new members to join its weekly meetings.
In Reading Round a group of people gathers around a table and listens to stories and poetry read aloud. Our groups meet regularly for thirty weeks of the year and are open to any member of the public with a passion and curiosity for reading.
Participants are immersed in great writing from all corners of the world and travel deep into a poem or short story to discover how writing works and what makes a text sing. Together with a professional writer, the close-knit group will learn to listen, discuss and share with others.
No reading in advance is required.
Mondays, 4pm to 5.30pm, at Downing Place United Reformed Church, Cambridge, CB2 3EL (opposite John Lewis).
Everyone welcome, but numbers are limited. To enquire and reserve your FREE space, email: alex.wong@rlfeducation.org.uk
Sessions are led by author Alex Wong for the Royal Literary Fund.
