Cambridge Mechanical Keyboards 14th September

Details

Whether you have a vast collection of mechanical and Topre keyboards or simply wish to find out if it’s worthwhile to purchase your first keyboard, you are equally welcome to this meet up. All that is required of you is some interest in mechanical keyboards! If you’re here to learn, I’d be more than happy to explain everything to you.

This is a chance for us to have a good conversation to share our knowledge and enthusiasm, and I will set a broad topic for each event. You may, of course, talk about all other aspects of keyboards if that is where the conversation takes us.

Topic for this event: How not to go bankrupt
Mechanical keyboards are often regarded as an expensive hobby (though it doesn’t have to be that way). How do we make sure we’re financially responsible, whether you're interested in higher or lower-end keyboards? Do you have good tips to stay on a budget?

Please take this topic as light-hearted conversation. There is no objective right answers to these questions!

Bringing your keyboard:
There will be a small food- and drinks-free table for keyboard display. Bringing along your keyboard is welcome but optional: I myself am not too inclined to transport my weighted aluminium boards at present. If you do bring your keyboard, you may also bring a mat or a towel for it.

There will be cards to indicate whether you are open to others trying out your keyboard. If other attendees are kind enough to showcase their keyboards, please be extra careful not to cause damage, and respect their wishes to not touch their keyboards.

Venue:
I have booked a private room at the Station Tavern, which is on the ground floor next to the Cambridge train station. Once you come in, turn left and go straight to the room called the Sidings.
