Mobile Health Apps

This month we are focusing on mobile health apps, with talks from the founders of Rize and Rhea. Please join us from 7pm with talks beginning on the top floor at 7:30pm.
John Harper: Rize - From Sofa To Start-up
“Two years ago I suffered from depression. I used a rusty website that had information on self-help to get better. After recovering I found there was a need for better, more engaging and effective digital support for mental well-being from everyone who had to deal with anything from stress to anxiety or depression. So I decided to create an app - Rize. I had never used a smart phone and I wasn't a mental health professional.
I will describe my journey from my idea, to building a team, to losing a team, joining the Accelerate Cambridge Program, and eventually developing a product and business model that has allowed me to make money, and a difference"
Ana Burman: Rhea mHealth
Rhea mHealth is a social enterprise with a mission to use mobile technologies to support women with their health and wellbeing needs.
At Rhea we are building a mobile messaging platform to connect women to organisations offering health information and support. Through our platform, women and supporters can exchange mobile messages in a free, secure and private way. Our vision is to offer women a safe place to find reliable health and wellbeing information and support.
We have room for 1 more speaker, so if you have something you’d like to say about mobile health apps, please message the organisers through this site.
