## Details
Join us for the new and improved monthly Cambridge Rust meetup, hosted at Quantinuum's office on Hill's Road.
Speaker: Jorge Prendes
Jorge is a software engineer at Microsoft. During the day he writes Rust code to enable running secure WebAssembly workloads in Azure. During the night, he writes Rust, C++ and JavaScript for fun. When he's not coding, he likes spending time with his family and playing board games.
Topic: Demystifying async Rust: Writing an async runtime from scratch
Sometimes writing async code in Rust seems a bit like magic. Just add a dependency on tokio, scatter `async`s and `await`s throughout, and it just works™. But to make this possible there's some amazing infrastructure provided by the rust compiler and the tokio runtime. Lets reveal the secrets of async Rust's magic by writing an async runtime from scratch.
