Personality has been taught in psychology classes since the natural philosophers first asked questions about why we behave the way we behave. We use measures based on traits or types or functions, but none of them has ever asked whether we can choose not to.

In this talk, Dr Darren Stevens will outline an approach to personality that will challenge the accepted wisdom, and explain how he thinks personality doesn’t exist once you realise it’s a choice.

Dr Darren Stevens is a developmental psychologist and university lecturer. He also runs the Institute for Adult Development which offers new ways of growing our thinking. His new theory in psychology permeates many arenas, from coaching to pedagogy, and personality is a personal favourite.
