Griff Rhys Jones: Blockers or Builders of the Future?
Details
Artist, activist, and comedian Griff Rhys Jones joins us to ask how progress and preservation can work hand in hand, and what that means for Cambridge’s future.
Known to millions as one of Britain’s most loved performers, Griff first came to fame in Not the Nine O’Clock News and Smith and Jones, winning an International Emmy and multiple British Comedy Awards. He is guest speaker at this year’s annual Cambridge Past, Present and Future talk, taking place in the Babbage Theatre at the David Attenborough Building, one of Cambridge’s most iconic venues for environmental thought and action.
Beyond his celebrated career in the arts, Griff is a passionate advocate for the built and natural environment. As President of Civic Voice and the Victorian Society, he has championed heritage protection, community-led planning, and thoughtful development across the UK. His long-standing efforts to restore the Hackney Empire are just one example of his belief that creativity, heritage and civic pride can work hand in hand.
Please book your place (tickets CPPF non-members £6.00/members £3.00) via the Cambridge Past, Present and Future website at:
