Audrey Tautou in Amélie 2001 - watch with us
Details
Join us for Amélie (Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain, 2001), directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and starring Audrey Tautou, a charming and visually inventive romantic comedy set in the Montmartre district of Paris. The story follows Amélie, a shy and imaginative young woman who finds joy in secretly improving the lives of those around her through small, thoughtful acts—while gradually learning to open her own heart to love and connection.
A worldwide success, the film received widespread critical acclaim and numerous honours. It won four César Awards, including Best Film and Best Director, and was named Best Film at the European Film Awards. It also earned two BAFTA Awards and received five Academy Awards nominations, including Best International Feature Film and Best Original Screenplay. Beloved for its whimsical style and uplifting spirit, Amélie remains one of the most iconic French films of recent decades.
As usual we will socialise, enjoying snacks and beverages before settling down to watch the movie. A fun quiz at the end will determine who's done their homework before the film!
