Ethics of AI: Navigating Responsibility in the Age of Intelligence
In this thought-provoking and timely session, we’ll unpack the ethical challenges and responsibilities that come with building and deploying artificial intelligence in the real world.
Our featured speaker, Kwame Owoahene Acheampong, will guide us through:
✅ The core ethical dilemmas in modern AI development
✅ Real-world examples of bias, accountability, and transparency in AI systems
✅ What responsible AI looks like — and who gets to decide
From autonomous vehicles to generative models, AI is becoming deeply embedded in our lives — but with great power comes the need for thoughtful design, regulation, and human oversight.
Whether you’re a developer, policymaker, researcher, or simply concerned about how AI will shape society, this session will offer critical insights and a platform for meaningful discussion.
💡 Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with the deeper questions of AI — because how we build matters just as much as what we build.
📢 Speaker
Kwame Owoahene Acheampong is a doctoral candidate (ABD) in the Qualitative Research and Evaluation Methodologies (QREM) program at the University of Georgia, USA.
His research sits at the intersection of qualitative inquiry, program evaluation, and human-centered artificial intelligence (HCAI).
Kwame’s work advocates for the use of cultural responsiveness as an ethical framework for integrating AI into evaluation theory and practice—particularly within international and cross-cultural contexts.
By positioning cultural responsiveness as a guiding standard, his research aims to address algorithmic bias and promote equitable, context-sensitive policy outcomes for diverse populations.
