First 2021 Bioinformatics meetup with John Marioni and Sarah Teichmann

Details
Dear Members,
We hope this meetup message finds you well. It has been a long wait but we are back with bang. We are hereby announcing the next Computational Biology and Bioinformatics face to face meetup for Friday July 30th 4:30pm. We are super excited to announce our invited guest speaker, John Marioni, Head of Research at EMBL-EBI (https://www.ebi.ac.uk/about/people/john-marioni), who will be discussing the latest and greatest developments in the space.
After the talk we will also be joined to a panel discussion by Sarah Teichmann, who is co-founder and principal leader of the Human Cell Atlas (HCA) international consortium. The panel discussion will be facilitated by Marta Milo, our newest organising committee member (please take the opportunity to greet her on the day).
We are excited to finally be able to host you in the new AstraZeneca headquarters on the Biomedical Campus. The meetup will be located in the Auditorium at the R&D Centre located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus – at 1 Francis Crick Avenue, Cambridge, CB2 0AA. We will follow current guidance on social distancing and the use of face masks (please bring one along just in case).
We hope to see many of you for pre-talk networking at 4:30pm with the talk by John Marioni at 5pm. From 6pm we will take a short walk together to the Queen Edith pub (https://www.individualpubs.co.uk/queenedith/) for drinks and refreshments.
Edit. For entering the building we would kindly ask people to use their full names when registering for the meetup.
We look forward to seeing you all again!
On behalf of the organisers,
Miika Ahdesmaki
