What we’re about
Welcome to CCR Meetup!
We are happy you have joined our MeetUp Group to enjoy the many activities and educational opportunities we offer. CCR Meetup is sponsored by the Camera Club of Richmond (Virginia).
The Camera Club of Richmond was founded in 1932 to promote the art of photography in central Virginia. Our vision is to promote excellence in photography; inspiring our members to reveal the world around us, preserve memories and create works of art. The Camera Club of Richmond’s mission is to empower our members to learn and grow their photographic craft through education, activities, exhibits, critiques, mentoring, and competitions.
Our membership has a wide range of experience and skill levels in film, digital, mirrorless, and cell phone cameras. In addition, members have the opportunity to display their work in various galleries throughout the Richmond area, have their work evaluated several times a year at our scheduled Evaluation Meetings, and participate in an End of Year Competition and Awards Presentation.

Fred Morton is located in Richmond, Virginia, and provides headshots, portraits, and conference/ commercial image services for the Mid-Atlantic Region. Photography has been a lifelong passion of his. His early work focused on a documentary photojournalistic style. Seeing the world through the eyes of people in India, Korea, Ireland, and Cuba allowed him to see the natural beauty of various people and places.
These experiences gave Fred an in-depth understanding of natural light which he utilizes in his studio shoots as he works with studio lights to create a natural experience. In addition, he loves to work with his clients on location, where he can blend natural light and flash to create beautiful images that capture the emotions of each location. Whether you need a powerful headshot or portrait, Fred’s goal is to create images that will help you communicate poise and strength as a leader or public figure. This is an important focus of his work whether in the studio, at an event, or capturing images on location.
What motivates him the most is the thrill of crafting an image that brings excitement and joy to his clients. You can see some of Fred’s work on his website: FredMorton.photo.If you are not yet a member, please consider joining us!
