About us
Camp Good Mourning! is a 501c3 nonprofit that provides FREE bereavement camp programs for Long Island children coping with the death of a parent or sibling.
Our goal is to recruit caring and compassionate people to get involved with Camp Good Mourning!
You can support Camp Good Mourning! campers and our organization by either:
• volunteering during a weekend camp, event, outing or get involved behind the scenes
• having fun attending/participating (not as a volunteer) in one of our fundraising events
Our events include:
• Two 3-day weekend camps -- one in the Spring and one in the Fall. Each camp requires team members to attend a two-day training that will provide the skills needed to support grieving children. The camps take place at Camp Quinipet on Shelter Island.

Camp Good Mourning! - A weekend grief camp for Long Island children
Camp Quinipet, 99 Shore Road, Shelter Island Heights, NY, USAttend a 2-day training:
- Saturday, April 11th at the SYJCC in Commack
- Sunday, April 11th at Camp Quinipet on Shelter Island
Camp is Friday May 1st through Sunday May 3rd.
Camp Good Mourning! (CGM!) is a Huntington, New York–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides FREE weekend grief camp programs for Long Island children coping with the death of a parent or sibling.
Campers participate in traditional camp activities that takes place in a traditional camp setting with one extra special component — grief support groups. Here, campers share their grief stories, explore feelings, identify healthy coping strategies, and learn ways to stay connected to loved ones who have died. Just as important, campers build friendships with other children who truly understand their experience, often creating lasting communities of support beyond camp.
