This is a paid talk, Please get your tickets here:
Gareth is a portrait photographer based in Royston, Hertfordshire, specialising in two of the most unpredictable subjects—animals and children. His journey into photography began in secondary school in the 1990s, sparking a lifelong passion that eventually led to a career as a self-employed photographer, with a break along the way.
In this talk, Gareth shares the evolution of his work, from his early experiments with photography to his current approach in his home studio. He will take the audience through his process of capturing striking dog portraits, demonstrating how simplicity—often using just a single light—can produce powerful and timeless images.
Through personal stories, insights, and behind-the-scenes details, Gareth offers a look into his creative process, proving that great photography doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether you’re an aspiring photographer or simply appreciate the art of portraiture, this talk provides inspiration and a fresh perspective on capturing the essence of a subject with minimal equipment and maximum impact.
