FairVote Washington is a non-partisan, non-profit, volunteer-driven champion of electoral reforms like ranked-choice voting. Ranked choice voting gives voters a greater choice, a stronger voice, and a more civil, representative democracy that works for all Americans. This way of voting is the fastest-growing non-partisan reform in the U.S. It improves representation while empowering voters and incentivizes candidates to run less negative campaigns reaching beyond their base.

Rute Ayalew is the Associate Organizer with FairVote Washington. She is an Ethiopian immigrant from North Carolina. Rute has experience organizing for tenants’ unions and racial justice. Building collective power across differences is what fuels her spirit.
