Snowy Owl Safari this Sunday
Details
Hi Nature Lovers,
Join Us for a Snowy Owl Adventure This Sunday!
I’ll be leading a birdwatching outing north of Toronto this Sunday, designed to give us the best chance to see the magnificent Snowy Owls in their natural habitat. These owls are most active later in the day, so we’ve planned our trip to maximize our chances of spotting them.
Snowy Owls are making an exciting return to Southern Ontario in decent numbers, with even more expected to arrive soon. I wouldn’t have planned this outing without confirmed reports of their presence, so this is shaping up to be an incredible opportunity, especially if seeing a Snowy Owl in the wild is on your bucket list!
What You Can Expect:
In previous years, our outings have yielded hundreds of sightings of Snowy Owls, along with other amazing birds such as Bald Eagles, Rough-legged Hawks, Snow Buntings, and other surprise visitors. At this time of year, birds of prey are a highlight, including Bald Eagles, Rough-legged Hawks, and Red-tailed Hawks.
This winter has also seen an influx of winter finches including Pine Grosbeaks and Evening Grosbeaks along with Bohemian Waxwings. As always, I will keep an eye on the latest bird sighting to give us the best chance to find our target birds.
The arrival of winter-like conditions makes this the ideal time to spot Snowy Owls, as they become easier to see in the open landscapes. These stunning birds are truly awe-inspiring, and we’re fortunate to have the chance to witness them here in Southern Ontario every year.
We’ll journey through some of the top Snowy Owl hotspots in Ontario, focusing primarily on finding these majestic birds. Based on recent reports, I’m confident we’ll have excellent chances of success.
This year is also shaping up to be an incredible one for northern birds moving into Southern Ontario.
While I can’t guarantee we’ll see every bird on our list, I promise we’ll do our best to make this a memorable and rewarding experience.
Come join us for a thrilling adventure with the Snowy Owls!
