What we’re about
“Traveling - it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” - Ibn Battuta
A very warm welcome to Canadian Globetrotters - a group geared for anyone who loves to travel.
This Group has been initiated for adventurers who love to explore. A forum to bring together intrepid Travellers who share a love for globetrotting & would like to share stories of past adventures, talk about future ones & make new friends. Basically, to interact socially & sit down for a fun evening, network, have a good time & talk about where we have been & where we dream of going tomorrow.
We will also plan to organise memorable journeys of our own to more exotic places in Africa, Asia, Europe & Americas. Think of mainstream Africa - the Rainbow Kingdom, Kenya, Tanzania and then off the beaten track to Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Bostwana, Namibia, Rwanda, Uganda etc.
Talking about Asia, I am sure we would all love to discover India, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and not so common Bhutan, Iran, Sri Lanka. Veering completely off the beaten path, we might talk about travelling along in the footsteps of Marco Polo on the ancient trade route between China & the Mediterranean. Imagine the camel caravans travelling slowly through exotic destinations on the Silk Route - Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan & marvel at the history you will experience there.
Europe offers its own charms. We can enjoy River Cruising where we pack & unpack only once, experience the idyllic beauty of small scenic villages enroute - so steeped in imperial history & culture and then mooring right in the middle of beautiful cities to have a look at the offerings there. And it is ours to discover the unfathomable charms in the not so common places which used to be behind the Iron Curtain till a few years back & now entice us to come back again & again.
But enough about the far off lands. Let us have a good time in our own locale.
As much as we are looking to find other adventurous people to travel with, we love getting together with like minded social people from our community to visit local restaurants, grab a social drink together in one of the local bars or maybe even an interactive hike or a walk at a local park. Sitting with strangers is a great way to wind down after a hard week at work to catch up & avail the opportunity to mix & mingle and converse, interact, share.
So come join us & let us enjoy the talk about becoming intrepid explorers we have always wanted to be. We gather here to make friends, laugh, socialize & be silly together. Looking forward to seeing you & making a new friend.
“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” – Saint Augustine
