Combining dance and video pieces, including A Body in Tokyo, Eiko Otake responds to ecological crises. Born and raised in Japan and a resident of New York since 1976, Eiko is a movement–based, interdisciplinary artist. Her work for more than 40 years as Eiko & Koma earned the collaborative pair a MacArthur "Genius" award. Eiko now performs as a soloist, directs her own projects, and creates films. She will screen her recent films and interject her live performance body with projection.
