Lunar New Year slow ride (10km, flat, easy)

Details

The new moon on January 22 marks the start of the Year of the Rabbit, an occasion celebrated across the world. Mark Lunar New Year's Eve with a special slow ride on a route that is meant to resemble a rabbit, but with weird ears.

We'll start and finish at the Street Theatre on the corner of University Ave and Childers St, and meander through the campus of the Australian National University, taking in the incredible architecture of the multi-award winning Australian Centre on China in the World Building.

The ride then shifts to the bike path to Dickson, where we can enjoy performances at the street celebrations on Woolley St, in time for the Canberra dragon dance performance at 6pm.

Wear red if possible, as it's an auspicious colour for the Lunar New Year, which is celebrated by communities across east Asia and around the world.

Bring water, sunglasses, bike locks, and money if you want to eat in Dickson.
