AI is making some people faster, but that does not automatically make teams or organisations more productive. Gains can be lost through checking, correction, rework and poorly designed workflows. In other cases, AI is changing who does the work and where judgement needs to sit.

This 60-minute workshop hosted by .Pypline and Trellis Data brings together current research, practical methods and participants’ experiences of using AI at work.

We will discuss three questions:

  • Where is AI helping, and why?
  • Where are the expected gains not materialising?
  • How might roles, workflows and ways of working need to change as a result?

We will share lessons from research and work already underway in organisations and teams. Participants will then compare these findings with what they are seeing on the ground.

Together, we will examine different ways humans and AI can work together, where review and judgement remain critical, and how individual gains can translate into better team outcomes.

These ways of working are still emerging. The session is designed to help participants learn from one another while applying useful frameworks to their own context.

### What you will leave with

By the end of the session, participants should have:

  • A clearer way to assess where AI is, and is not, creating productivity gains
  • A practical framework for thinking about tasks, workflows, review and human judgement
  • Examples and lessons from research and other participants’ experiences
  • One concrete change or experiment to test in their own work or team

### Who it is for

The workshop will be particularly useful for leaders and managers responsible for teams, workflows or organisational outcomes. These participants are often best placed to see whether faster individual output is improving the overall system or simply shifting work elsewhere.
However, everybody interested in how AI is changing work is welcome. No technical expertise is required.
