Sunday stroll in Oaks Estate - short version river walk

Details
This is a shorter version - approx 3 km - of our usual Queanbeyan/Oaks Estate walk focusing on the river section. As such, it will suit those wanting an easier/shorter walk completed within an hour.
The route offers off-leash walking and river paddles for dogs, combined with pretty country views for their humans.
Our route:
• starts opposite little Gillespie Park featuring a community garden, picnic tables, BBQs, bins and a toilet;
• follows a pretty off-leash path along the banks of the Molonglo and Queanbeyan rivers with an easy access point for doggie paddles; and
• finishes up exploring a secret track through a little wood.
The off-leash section (about 2 km) provides a safe, grassy area for our dogs to have a run, play and paddle.
This is a relatively easy walk, but much of the route is on dirt tracks and includes some steps up and down.
There's plenty of free parking around Gillespie Park.
Important info:
- You walk entirely at your own risk and you are wholly responsible for your own, and your dog's, behaviour; by rsvping 'yes' to this walk you understand and agree to this condition.
- All off-leash activities are at the discretion of the walk guide. If for any reason they feel any dog should be back on lead, please respect their decision, as they are trying to ensure everyone has a pleasant experience.
- We ask $7.50 per adult to be paid by card to the guide at the beginning of the walk - children (under 18) walk free of charge. The charge helps cover our meetup subscription, insurance, internet, petrol, and other costs. We will gladly refund this if you are not happy for any reason.
