What we’re about

Welcome to the Canberra High Strangeness Meetup. The capital’s home for open-minded discussion, evidence-based research, and real experiences with Unidentified Aerial Phenomena.
Whether you’ve witnessed something unexplained in our skies, spent years digging through declassified files, follow the latest Congressional hearings, or simply want to separate fact from fiction in a no-judgement space, this group is for you.
What we do:

Monthly meetups (pub or outdoor skywatch – weather depending)
Review recent Australian and international sightings & footage
Share resources, FOI documents, radar data, and credible reporting channels
Goal to have guest speakers: defence veterans, pilots, researchers, experiencers
Occasional night-vision skywatches in low light-pollution areas around the ACT
Respectful, evidence-friendly discussion, no dogma, no debunker vs believer wars.

We use “UAP” because it’s the term now used by the Australian Defence Force, NASA, AARO, and Parliament. Lights in the sky, high-strangeness encounters, whatever your interest, if it’s unexplained and it flies (or defies physics), we want to hear about it.
Beginners welcome. Sceptics welcome. Experiencers very welcome.
Just bring curiosity and respect.
Canberra clear skies, low light pollution, and a surprisingly high number of credible sightings. Let’s figure out what’s going on above the capital together.
See you under the stars (or whatever else is up there). 🛸
