Walking the Psyche:
The Labyrinth as a Living Map of the Self"
[Celebrating World Labyrinth Day]
Led by Dr Kirstin Robertson-Gillam
at the Labyrinth of the Australian Centre for Christianity and Culture, 15 Blackall St, Barton, ACT

On Saturday morning 2nd May, we have the opportunity to walk the full-sized labyrinth, laid out in the grounds of the Australian Centre for Christianity & Culture in Barton.
The labyrinth is one of humanity's oldest symbols, and, each year, we have celebrated World Labyrinth Day (This year, Saturday 2nd May) with an excursion to one of Canberra’s outdoor labyrinths.
The previous night (Friday 1st May) we will have had a talk from Dr Kirstin about Jung’s connection with labyrinths. Her talk will trace the labyrinth's journey from Bronze Age carvings and the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur through to the great medieval pilgrimage labyrinths of Europe - and into the consulting room of the modern psyche.

The labyrinth, it turns out, is a remarkably precise map of individuation: the winding, unavoidable process by which we become who we truly are. Along the way, we encounter the Persona, the Shadow, and the still point at the centre that Jung called the Self.
Whether you have walked a labyrinth or simply felt that your own path has been taking more turns than expected, this experience offers a fresh and grounding perspective on the journey inward.
Time: 12 noon - 1:30 pm, for an introductory talk by Dr Kirstin, a picnic lunch, and a meditative walk around the labyrinth.

Place: The labyrinth at the Australian Centre For Christianity And Culture, 15 Blackall Street, Barton ACT 2600.
Picnic Lunch is provided!
Cost: $10: Pay by cash, bank transfer, credit card, or TryBooking.
RSVP: Jeanne James (0406) 375 670
