Azure Databricks (Spark) - An Introduction

This month, Jim McLeod will be presenting on Databricks - a Spark-based analytics platform that improves greatly on HDInsight Spark. We will look at the basics of Databricks, how it is presented on the Azure platform, and demonstrations of how we can use it to build a simple ETL pipeline and report using Power BI. If you've been hesitant to start using Spark, Databricks makes it extremely easy to get started.

Additionally, there have been a number of new Power BI features announced this month, such as Composite Models that combine Direct Query/Live data with Imported data, and we'll spend some time reviewing these.
