Abstract:

This talk introduces the spatial data handling capabilities of R, within the context of a specific analytical task. Specific spatial analysis methods (e.g. kriging) are not the focus. The talk will, instead, provide some examples of: R spatial object attributes; Importing and exporting spatial data; Creating spatial objects; Plotting; Merging (union) spatial objects; Standard geos functions (buffer, intersections, centroid, distance); and Multiple imputation using Amelia.
