Scuba Diving, Jervis Bay

Here's some more details for the diving trip organised for late Jan 2015. Hope you can make it!

The dive shop we are using is called Dive Jervis Bay in Huskisson. If you are wanting to come along, then RSVP here (so I have an idea of how many) AND BE SURE TO BOOK DIRECTLY THROUGH THE DIVE SHOP.

Cost includes:

2 boat dives over one half day (Double Boat dives)

Equipment rental (weights, BCD, reg, booties(?), wetsuit, mask, fins, etc)

Dive guide

Light snacks, hot drinks and water

(Note: he didn't say this, but in my experience divers must be at least Open Water certified through a recognised diving authority/association - eg, PADI)

There are over 40 great dives to be had in Jervis Bay - the two dives chosen for the day will be dependent on the weather conditions The dives generally include rocky topography, .swim throughs, some caves and walls with wildlife such as grey nurse sharks, weedy sea dragons, blue groupers, bull rays and plenty of schooling fish to be spotted.

Don't forget to ask your non-diving friends too, as snorkellers are welcome on the day!

ACCOMMODATION: There's plenty in Huskisson/Vincentia, including the Husky Caravan Park almost across the road, the Husky Pub (also across the road - and I'm sure will be the venue for a few drinks and stories afterwards!), as well as a variety of hotels and rentals close by. One of the reasons I chose that weekend is because being the first weekend after school goes back, the accommodation costs go down!
