What we’re about
Welcome to “Cancelling Cancel Culture.” This will be a Meetup group for those of us who are worn out by "wokeness" and the rapid rise of a new anti-scientific and anti-common sense orthodoxy. Until recently we were the Jordan Peterson Meetup Group, and of course JP himself was almost cancelled by his university colleagues, not because he was bad at his job, but because he held the “wrong opinions” and spoke out against enforced speech laws in Canada.
Have you yourself been cancelled or shut down because of your views, or have you found yourself censoring your own speech to avoid conflict, even with friends and family? …and not extreme views, but widely held and perfectly acceptable views until very recently? Do you hear news stories like how 4-year-olds in Scotland can now self-identify as a different gender, and wonder if you are in an episode of "The Twilight Zone" or have woken up in an alternate reality? Have you been asked to give your personal pronouns and found yourself squirming? Are you old enough to remember when there were only two genders? (By the way, this is not to demean anyone who is struggling with gender dysphoria).
We are not anti-anyone… we are Pro-Science, Pro-Truth, Pro-Common Sense! We want everyone to live their best life… but that doesn’t mean we have to abandon free speech and free thought.
Our goals:
To be an open forum to discuss ways of fighting back and reclaiming freedom of speech and freedom of thought.
To meet like-minded folk and make new friends.
To end the fear of speaking your mind.
Please join us and come speak your mind without fear of being cancelled!

A Failed Promise: What England Can Learn From South Africa
The Briton's Protection, 50 Great Bridgewater St, Manchester, GB***An early head's up! Save the Date for our annual Pot Luck Christmas Party. Sunday 14 December 2pm.
For our November meetup we will be welcoming guest speaker, Jaco van Zyl. He is a clinical psychologist, originally from South Africa and currently living in Ireland, working in private practice. He is a co-director of Critical Therapy Antidote (https://criticaltherapyantidote.org/), a UK-based organisation of mental health professionals concerned with the ideological takeover of the therapy field.
He will be discussing lessons we here in the UK can learn from the situation in South Africa (and now also Ireland). What was promised after Aphartheid was that all folks would come together in harmony. What kept that dream from being realised? Is multi-culturalism a pipe dream? Is South Africa a lost cause?
Some of the issues involved: Can anyone really rely on the belief that people are inherently good while simultaneously despising and upending the West and its culture, dismanlting its institutions, pulling down statues, demonizing its heroes, criminalizing its legacy. This should be a fascinating and enlightening talk and discussion.
Join CCC Manchester for stimulating and fresh conversation and debate. We’re a friendly, welcoming bunch, and many folks even choose to stay well past 4pm to continue the discussion! Grab a drink at the bar and come upstairs for some lively, open and honest chat. All good faith opinions are welcomed and respected. We don't charge for our events but we do ask for a small cash donation to help pay for expenses.
