CANICROSS RUN AT DEL MAR BEACH

Run with Fido! Turn your run into an endless fartlek with your furry personal trainer. No excuses about this early morning run, your pup is always motivated to, …GO-GO! Run “your own pace event”, poky, slow, average, or roadrunner fast, make it a fun run, or a genuine workout, it’s your run. If your dog is a leash puller, then Canicross is for you! Pullers welcomed!

Distance: 3.5-ish miles on flat firm packed sand. Easy!
Location: Meet in front of Del Mar Powerhouse.
Outdoor Temperature: Cool. 70+ degrees, meetup will be cancelled.
Tide level: Determines run Southwards Torrey Pines Inlet, or North to Del Mar Dog Beach. You will get wet!
Cancellations: If no one but Host signs-up, then meetup is canceled.

If you don't have specific Canicross sports dog-gear,...No Worries! I have canicross sports gear available for purchase. Shoot Deborah Vande Berg a message, so I can reserve the proper sized running gear, availability is limited, so its first come/first serve on the gear.

Suggested Equipment:

1. Canicross Belt or Runner's Hands-free belt.
2. Dog Harness w/ leash attachment on back. No "restricted" harnesses.
3. Dog Leash or Canicross Bungee leash.
4. Water & Treats - For you & your dog.
5. Wag Bags provided at Park.

*Please, no dogs under one year old. Their bodies are not fully developed yet and need a bit more time to grow before pulling in a harness.
**Dogs with shorter muzzles, i.e Pit Bulls, Boxers, etc. are not well suited for canicross running, because of strained breathing issues, and heart stress. I'd hate to have anything bad happen to your pup.
***To protect the safety of your dog and other dogs at the meet-up, if your dog shows signs of aggression or aggression towards other dogs, we will have to ask you to leave the meet-up. If your dog damages another,...you are responsible for the Vet bill. We're here for a low stress environment for Owners and their dogs...We're here to have fun!
