CANICROSS BEGINNERS TRAIL RUN - NORTH RIOS TRAILHEAD AT SAN ELIJO LAGOON

Details

CANICROSS BEGINNERS TRAIL INTRO: San Elijo Lagoon Preserve.
DESCRIPTION: Stop & Go run. Opportunity to practice your commands with other runners, practice passing, turns & trail positions. This is not meant to be a fast-paced run, just an opportunity to work with others on a single & double track trail.
This beautiful Lagoon Trail begins at the N. Rios Ave Trailhead (park at cul de sac) and runs eastward to 5 Frwy, and then doubles back. We'll train using a double-loop run, 2x's. Estimated 3.5 miles.

Meet-Up at 7:00 AM, in the Cul-de-Sac. After a brief intro, we'll start on the trail...7:15 AM. Come Belted, Leashed with your Canine Teammate(s) Harnessed and ready to go!

Trail Description: Easy, well-groomed coastal trail, single & double track, with a slight hill near Annie's Trail (no, we're not doing the canyon). No rock & gravel to trip you up, and no sand traps...it’s an easy trail that lets you focus on training.

Optional Post-Run Coffee/Breakfast at dog friendly Cedros Street nearby.

*Please, no dogs under one year old. Their bodies are not fully developed yet and need a bit more time to grow before pulling in a harness.
**Dogs with shorter muzzles, i.e Pit Bulls, Boxers, etc. are not well suited for this cani-trail running, because of strained breathing issues, and heart stress. I'd hate to have anything bad happen to your pup.
***To protect the safety of your dog and other dogs at the meet-up, if your dog shows signs of aggression or aggression towards other dogs, we will have to ask you to leave the meet-up. If your dog damages another dog or person, you are responsible for the Vet & Doctor bills. We're here for a low stress environment for Owners and their dogs...We're here to have fun!
