Paint Out - Canoe Meadows - Kananaskis

The forecast for Saturday is looking good. With the smoke currently obscuring the mountain views, I thought it would be good to head to the river. We painted at Canoe Meadows last year and enjoyed the location. The rock formations are quite interesting, as is the white water.

This is a shaded spot by cold water. So, I think going in the heat of the afternoon will work well.

I believe this is the first day use area on your right as you enter Kananaskis from Highway 1 onto Highway 40. There is typically lots of parking and washroom facilities on site. We will meet in the parking lot at 1:30 in the afternoon. The location is a short walk down the hill towards the river from the parking lot.

You do need a pass to park in Kananaskis and please bring all your own art supplies.
